Union Station Awarded the Denver by the Slice “Top Tacky Tree Trophy” for 2nd Year!

Of all the nice holiday lights Downtown every season, one part of one display always stands out. And, the Winner Is…

Levi Leipheimer (in yellow above) led a group of five American riders at the top of the final standings of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge. The race ended in Denver in front of about 100,000 enthusiastic, and knowledgeable bicycle racing fans. No hurricanes. But plenty to do. The Denver Modernism Show 2011 is on this weekend at the National Western Complex, where we last visited the Denver County Fair. Your Changing Skyline!

Don’t look now, but there’s an erector set on steroids in Civic Center right in front of the City and County Building. It’s for an event called “Denver Big Air” that takes place Tuesday and Wednesday night, the 25th and 26th. Info here. Guys skiing or snowboarding down from the top of that thing, launching off a “Kicker” high into space and eventually landing somewhere near the Mayor’s office.
