Tired of the Rain? Soak Up Some Great Jazz on Saturday!

The 8th Annual! Saturday, starting at 1:00, an afternoon of great music, all FREE, at the Five Points Jazz Festival! Wander over to Welton Street between 26th and 29th for good food and good vibes non-stop from five different music venues.

As a special treat, you can also partake in a lecture/conversation with Jake Adam York…professor, poet, and expert on many diverse subjects…as he discusses what makes a “Jazz Standard”. With audio support, of course. You likely know Jake from his many eclectic appearances at Mixed Taste, at the Museum of Contemporary Art. His presentations are at 1:30 and 3:30 at the Blair Caldwell African American Research Library, 2401 Welton.

The Main Stage will close the day with the 6:30 performance of the Bob Montgomery-Al Hermann Quartet. You can read more about Bob here from our archives. And, you can see him perform Saturday at the 29th and Welton stage location.

Here’s where you can find out more about this annual event brought to us by the Denver Office of Cultural Affairs, which for the sake of accuracy is now part of the Arts and Venues office of the city. Good work!
