A good journey starts with a good breakfast. This, in Denver. From The Market in Larimer Square. Cherry cheese strudel, a parting gift from my friend Jeremy, a colleague at Downtown’s finest wine shop, Wines Off Wynkoop! After this it was off on a non-stop flight to Munich, then rail to Croatia for the first several weeks…and months…of the new regime. Best of Luck to Us All!

After a chilly arrival in Zagreb, the morning train to Split eventually reached a temperate Mediterranean climate after passing through dozens of small towns. There was always a Station Master, wearing a red hat, to meet the train.

On a sunny Saturday on the Dalmatian Coast, the Adriatic is calm and the twenty side-by-side cafes just past those palm trees are jammed. Every one is basking in the culture!
