Le Grand Cafe de Lyon is far enough up Medicin that even when there are tourists there, there is always lots of room for the loyal locals. And, on the snack menu, a very fine Croque-Monsieur, the sandwich invented about 100 years ago with bread, ham and a golden, crusty toasted layer of Gruyere. This place does it right. Cafe Noissette, friendly service and a welcoming ambience. Go to Place Rosetti in Vieux Nice, face the church, look to your left and stop at Gelateria Azzurro. Be sure to meet Celine, one of the owners, and have a similar discussion to the one Diane is having here about the difference in taste between the Violet Gelato and the new Violet Sorbet.
